Internap Enters Strategic Relationship With Microsoft® to Launch Live, Microsoft Silverlight-Based Media Player

Joint development agreement enables cross-platform listenership for online radio built on Microsoft Silverlight

ATLANTA, GA – (September 12, 2007) – Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a provider of choice for fast, reliable Internet business solutions, today announced a joint development agreement with Microsoft to launch live audio players built on Microsoft Silverlight for some of the largest radio groups in the country.  The new Silverlight-enabled players will be fully integrated into Internap’s proprietary real time online Ad Insertion platform. Using Internap’s robust technology and streaming-media expertise, Silverlight provides a superior listening experience with compatibility across all Web browsers, expanding the potential audience beyond the Internet Explorer browser platform.

Flexible in design, aesthetics and ease-of-use, the Silverlight-enabled player features a suite of Internap solutions, including live audio / video streaming synchronized with rich media, dynamic ad insertion technology with demographic targeting, and full ad management and reporting.

“We are excited to see how Silverlight is enabling Internap to innovate in streaming media and real-time targeted ad insertion technology and to provide a combined end-user experience for online radio listeners,” said Sean Alexander, director of Silverlight, for Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased that Internap has joined our partner program in its mission to provide performance-oriented audio and video solutions to its rich media customers.”

To fully leverage the superior combination of technology and expertise from Microsoft and Internap, some of the largest radio networks nationwide are among the first to leverage the Silverlight-enabled player to stream radio shows online. Current Internap customers including Citadel Communications, Univision and Radio One will be offering the Silverlight-enabled player. With this announcement, Internap becomes the first Microsoft partner to commercially deploy the Silverlight-based player.

“Internap continues to drive innovation through our joint development agreement with Microsoft,” said Jim DeBlasio, CEO of Internap Network Services. “Together we are creating unique products that enable cross-platform delivery of rich-media content for Internap’s large base of streaming media customers.  Our pipeline of opportunities in the areas of content delivery and monetization is quite strong, and through this relationship with Microsoft, we will continue to transcend traditional technologies and deliver highly differentiated and compelling solutions to global enterprises.”

This agreement compliments the recent integration of Silverlight with Internap’s content delivery network (CDN), an initiative that further enhanced Internap’s advanced online media solutions. The integration of Silverlight enables Internap to broaden its customer base through an extensive, end-to-end IP solutions suite.
